Millicent's Message to the Incarcerated, Formerly and Otherwise...
Part of my service is working in prison ministry and my heart goes out to incarcerated men and women everywhere because I've been there and I know what its like, first hand.
A part of me says, in the words of Martin Luther King Jr., "Free At Last, Free At Last, Thank God Almight I'm Free At Last!" and another part of me knows the other side of that statement, something else King said; that none of is free until all of us are free. The work of the awakened ones is to educate, serve, uplift, encourage, motivate, goad, push and minister to those who are still sleepwalking and under the severly dysfunctional spell of illusions. I realize that we're all in this together and what happens with anyone of us affects all of us.
The hypnosis of this matrix is deep and its very easy to fall asleap in it so we must be vigilant and mindful of the marketing manipulations and mind games being played on us individually and collectively. We must strive to be our best selves and not fall prey to the negative messages being heaped upon us through popular media.
My message is WAKE UP to the truth of who you are! Break the spell of limitations and ridiculous messages you've internalized about yourself and reach for higher ground. That works starts with developing your capacities of body and mind; being disciplined and focused, serviceful and kind to self, and others.
